Description

A typical portrayal of Christ Pantocrator, blessing with his right hand and holding an open book in his left hand. Painted in the background are clouds. On Jesus Christ's left-hand and right-hand sides, engraved in two medallions, are his initials.

Iconographical technique: Combined

The basic tones are with distemper, the brightenings and the lightenings are made with a semi-oil vehicle. There are engravings on the aureole and on the two medallions with velaturas and with the "probaster" technique over the gilding.

Base material: Wood

The base is made by two softwood panels, joined by means of two wedge-shaped beams.
