Description

Painted on the left gate are: down below - the Holy Mother of God, kneeling at a proskonitarium with an open book; up above - the prophet David. Painted on the right gate: down below - Saint Archangel Gabriel with a flower in his Ieft hand; up above - the prophet Solomon.

Iconographical technique: Combined

Basic tones in distemper, finishing with oils and velaturas on the gilding. The varnish cover has grown dark and is with a soiled surface.

Base material: Wood

The base is a walnut woodcut. The ground coat is chalk.

State, restoration traces and comments

There are crackings in the painting layer and in the ground coat, with parts of them missing in the lower part the left gate. The gilding is missing along the middle frame and in the lower part of the left gate.
