Waist-length depiction of St. Arsenius, dressed in the garments of the high clergy. The combination of the bright red halo, the light hair and beard with the warm carnation of the face give a special expressiveness of the colouring. The icon's style and manner are wearing the mark of an archaic tradition typical for some paintings of Western Europe

State, restoration traces and comments

The icon had a metal repousse cover. Till 1975 it was covered with rough filler and retouches which are now removed. There is a bulgarian inscription on the two sides of his head, in the background.
