The icon is similar to some popular (primitive) images. There is an author's inscription with the date 1604 under the image of St. John the Baptist.
Description
John's blessing figure is located in the central area. Fourteen biographic scenes are depicted on the broad frame. The central image and the individual scenes are enclosed in plastic carved frames. The colour exposition is expressive, the stylisation of the clothes, the hands and the face reach geometrical schematism.
