The large decorative spots on the clothing, the background, the halo, the way the shape is constructed make this icon similar to the traditions of 12th-century art.
Description
A traditional waist-deep depiction of the saint in a metropolitan's garments. The patron of sailors and merchants was much revered in Nesebur. Around the central image there were 10 biographic scenes, now destroyed or damaged.
