The icon is in a frame painted in black and gold.
Description
St. Demetrius on horseback, wearing a green chemise gold armor and an unfurled pink chlamys, pierces the Antichrist with his spear. The latter is depicted in the foreground just as he falls transfixed. A broken spear and a drooping hand with a shield are seen. The horse is on hind legs; the saddle and the stirrups are richly decorated. The landscape has many planes, with a mountain rang in the distance beyond which the pinky sky imitates purple sunset.
