The icon of The Nativity of the Virgin is a lot closer to the stylistic peculiarities of the wall paintings. It has borrowed from them the interpretation of the scene and has preserved almost completely the strange bier-chair on which St. Anne is sitting instead of lying. The similarity with the model of the Nativity of the Virgin in the naos of the chapel in the Church of the Nativity is striking.
