Description
A traditional waist-high depiction of the Virgin Hodegetreia. The classical proportions, fine performance, integral silhouette and emotional expressivity of the icon attribute it to the circle of the Constantinople art of the early Paleologus style.

State, restoration traces and comments
The icon was restored around 1930: the missing parts of the mosaic layer were filled in with plaster and retouched imitatively.
